Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-09-16. Plain language where possible — legalese only where required.
1. Agreement
By creating an account or using Chartosaurus you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
Chartosaurus is built and operated by one person from Indonesia. These Terms govern your account, your use of the service, and any paid subscription.
The Privacy Policy describes how your data is handled and forms part of this agreement.
2. Your account
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
One account per person. You are responsible for what happens under it, and for keeping your password safe.
You are responsible for the data you connect or upload — that you have the right to connect it, and that connecting it does not breach an obligation you owe someone else. Notion and CSV upload are the two sources available. Google Sheets is not a source: the unfinished flow that once sat behind a switch has been removed from the software, and we do not sell it as coming.
Plans are single-user. There is no team model, no seat allowance and no shared workspace — an account is one person.
3. Acceptable use
You may not reverse engineer the service, scrape it, work around rate limits or plan limits, probe it for vulnerabilities without telling us, transmit malware, or use it to break any law.
You may not use Chartosaurus to publish charts promoting hate, violence, harassment, illegal content or fraud.
You may not resell access, or run the service on behalf of third parties in a way your plan does not cover.
Automated access must go through the product's own interface at the rates it allows. Rate limits exist so one account cannot degrade the service for everyone else.
We may suspend an account that breaks these rules. We will normally tell you why and give you a chance to fix it first; for something egregious or actively harmful we may suspend immediately.
4. Plans and billing
Free costs nothing and needs no card. Starter, Pro and Business are paid, billed monthly or annually through Creem, our payment processor, who is the merchant on your statement.
Annual billing is charged once for the year and works out about 20% below twelve monthly payments. The exact price for each plan is on the pricing page and is what you will be charged — there is no second price at checkout.
Prices are in US dollars. VAT, GST and sales tax are handled by Creem at checkout where they apply; listed prices exclude tax.
Upgrading takes effect immediately and is prorated against what you have already paid. Downgrading takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for — we do not refund the unused part.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the same interval until you cancel. Cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge.
Refunds are handled by hand, not by a button. Email support@chartosaurus.com within 14 days of a charge and we will refund it if the service did not do what this site said it does, if you were billed in error, if you were charged for a renewal you had already cancelled, or if you were charged twice for the same period. Outside those cases a refund is at our discretion, and we would rather give you one than argue. The full detail — what the window runs from, and how long the money takes to come back — is on the Refund Policy page.
The 14 days apply to everyone, wherever you live. Consumers in the EU and UK have a mandatory 14-day right to withdraw; rather than run one rule for them and a shorter one for everybody else, we give everyone the longer one.
If a payment fails and the subscription lapses, the account falls back to Free. Nothing is deleted for non-payment.
5. Cancellation and downgrade
Cancel any time from the billing portal. No email, no retention call.
Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for, then the account moves to Free.
Nothing is deleted when you downgrade. Charts you already made keep working and keep rendering, including in Notion. What the Free limit blocks is creating new ones: if you are over the 5-chart limit you cannot add another until you delete some or upgrade again.
Features above your new tier — extra rendering engines, dashboards, custom CSS — stop being available at the point of downgrade.
6. Your data and your content
Your data stays yours. Connecting a Notion database gives us permission to read it to draw your charts and nothing more.
You grant us only the licence needed to run the service: to store your chart configurations, render them, and serve the embeds you choose to make public.
We claim no ownership of your data, your charts or anything you embed, and we do not use any of it to train machine-learning models.
Export your data any time from Settings → Export. Deleting your account deletes it — see the Privacy Policy, section 10, for exactly what goes and what stays.
If you are a business and the data you connect is personal data you are responsible for as a controller, our Data Processing Agreement applies and forms part of these Terms. It takes effect when you connect a data source — there is nothing to sign and nothing to request.
7. Availability
Chartosaurus is a solo-operated product. We work to keep it up and we watch errors, but there is no uptime guarantee, no service credit scheme and no contractual SLA on any plan. Anyone who tells you a one-person product has 99.9% uptime is guessing.
Embeds depend on Notion's API being reachable. When Notion is down or rate-limiting us, charts may show stale cached data or fail to load, and that is outside our control.
We may change, add or remove features. For a change that removes something you are paying for, we will give notice as described in section 13 and, if you no longer want the service, refund the unused part of the term.
Planned maintenance that requires downtime will be announced in advance where we can predict it.
8. Intellectual property
Chartosaurus — the software, the name and the logo — remains ours. These Terms grant you a licence to use the service, not to the software behind it.
The open-source libraries we build on remain under their own licences, which their authors set and we comply with.
If you believe something on Chartosaurus infringes your copyright or trademark, email support@chartosaurus.com with enough detail to identify the work and where it appears. We remove infringing material.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
We are not responsible for data loss inside Notion, or inside any other source we may support later. Chartosaurus only reads those sources; it never writes to them.
A chart is a visualisation of data you supplied. It is not financial, medical or legal advice, and we do not warrant that the numbers it shows are correct — they are your numbers.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you actually paid us in the 12 months before it arose. On a free account that is nothing.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits. Where that is so, they apply only as far as permitted, and nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
11. Indemnity
You agree to cover us against third-party claims arising from your misuse of the service, from data you had no right to connect, or from your breach of these Terms.
12. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone — export first if you want your charts.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 3, or that we are required by law to close. Where we close a paid account for something that is not your fault, we refund the unused part of the term.
On termination your access ends and your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy, section 10. Records our payment processor holds for tax and accounting stay with it.
Sections 6, 9, 10 and 11 survive termination.
13. Changes to these Terms
The last-updated date at the top of this page changes whenever these Terms do.
For a material change — pricing, your rights, what we may do with your data — we will email you and show an in-app notice at least 30 days before it takes effect.
Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept it. If you don't, cancel and we will refund the unused part of your term.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, and disputes go to the courts of Jakarta.
If you are a consumer somewhere with mandatory local consumer protection, that law still protects you and this clause does not take it away.
Before anyone involves a court, email us. Almost everything is a misunderstanding that one reply fixes.
15. Contact
Everything — questions about these Terms, billing, refunds, copyright claims, account problems: support@chartosaurus.com.
Suspected security vulnerabilities go to the same address; Security sets out what to include. Please give us a reasonable window to fix an issue before disclosing it publicly.
